Rajya Sabha Election Result 2024 LIVE: Voting took place for 15 Upper House seats on Tuesday; 10 in UP, four in Karnataka, and one in Himachal Pradesh.
आज उत्तर प्रदेश, कर्नाटक और हिमाचल प्रदेश की 15 Rajya Sabha सीटों के लिए वोटिंग हुई. यह सुबह 9 बजे शुरू हुआ और शाम 5 बजे समाप्त हुआ। जिन 56 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ा गया, उनमें से 41 सदस्य बिना किसी विरोध के जीत गए। उल्लेखनीय विजेताओं में सोनिया गांधी, जेपी नड्डा, अशोक चव्हाण, अश्विनी वैष्णव और एल मुरुगन शामिल हैं।
राज्यसभा सांसद छह साल तक सेवा करते हैं, एक तिहाई सीटों के लिए हर दो साल में चुनाव होते हैं। वर्तमान में Rajya Sabha में 245 सदस्य हैं।

कर्नाटक : यहां चार सीटों पर जीत बाकी है। कांग्रेस ने अपने विधायकों को एक होटल में ठहराया है. अजय माकन और सैयद नसीर हुसैन समेत पांच उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं. पार्टियाँ संभावित क्रॉस वोटिंग को लेकर चिंतित हैं।
हिमाचल प्रदेश : कांग्रेस ने अपने विधायकों को अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी का समर्थन करने का निर्देश जारी किया. बीजेपी ने इसकी आलोचना करते हुए विधायकों को स्वतंत्र रूप से मतदान करने की आजादी की वकालत की.

Today, voting took place for 15 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh. It started at 9 am and ended at 5 pm. Out of the 56 seats contested, 41 members won without any opposition. Notable winners include Sonia Gandhi, JP Nadda, Ashok Chavan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and L Murugan.
Rajya Sabha MPs serve for six years, with elections held every two years for one-third of the seats. Currently, there are 245 members in the Rajya Sabha.
Here’s what’s happening in each state:
Uttar Pradesh : Voting is ongoing for 10 seats. BJP nominated eight candidates, while the Samajwadi Party nominated three. One seat might see competition due to Sanjay Seth’s inclusion.
Karnataka : There are four seats up for grabs. Congress has accommodated its MLAs in a hotel. Five candidates, including Ajay Maken and Syed Naseer Hussain, are competing. Parties are concerned about potential cross-voting.
Himachal Pradesh : The Congress issued a directive for its MLAs to support Abhishek Manu Singhvi. BJP criticized this, advocating for legislators’ freedom to vote independently.
