DMK MP A Raja says that ‘India is not a nation’. BJP insists on his ‘arrest’.
Amit Malviya, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), recently shared a video of a speech in Tamil by DMK MP A Raja. Malviya claimed that Raja made derogatory remarks about Lord Ram and questioned the concept of India in what he termed as a “hate speech.” According to Malviya, Raja allegedly called for the division of India.

मालवीय ने राजा के भाषण का अनुवाद करते हुए कहा कि भारत एक राष्ट्र नहीं है, बल्कि विभिन्न भाषाओं, परंपराओं, और संस्कृतियों से युक्त एक उपमहाद्वीप है। राजा ने भगवान राम के बारे में भी अपमानजनक टिप्पणी की, दावा करते हुए कि तमिलनाडु उन्हें देवता के रूप में स्वीकार नहीं करता है। इससे विवाद बढ़ा, जिसने सांस्कृतिक और धार्मिक संवेदनशीलताओं पर चर्चा और आलोचना को उत्तेजित किया।
भाजपा ने राजा की टिप्पणी की कड़ी निंदा की, अयोध्या के हनुमान गढ़ी मंदिर के एक पुजारी ने नाराजगी व्यक्त की और इस मामले के बारे में प्रधान मंत्री और राष्ट्रपति को लिखने का वादा किया। केंद्रीय मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर ने राजा पर उस समूह का हिस्सा होने का आरोप लगाया जो भारत को विभाजित करना और इसकी संस्कृति को नष्ट करना चाहता है।
बीजेपी सांसद रविशंकर प्रसाद ने ऐसे विवादास्पद बयानों के बावजूद डीएमके के साथ गठबंधन करने के लिए कांग्रेस पार्टी की आलोचना की. उन्होंने कांग्रेस पर राष्ट्रीय हितों पर राजनीतिक लाभ को प्राथमिकता देने का आरोप लगाया।
तमिलनाडु में भाजपा प्रवक्ता नारायणन तिरुपति ने राजा के बयानों के जवाब में उनकी गिरफ्तारी की मांग की।

In his translation of Raja’s speech, Malviya quoted Raja as saying that India is not a nation but a subcontinent comprised of various languages, traditions, and cultures. Raja also allegedly made disparaging remarks about Lord Ram, stating that Tamil Nadu does not accept him as a deity.
The BJP vehemently denounced Raja’s remarks, triggering strong condemnation. A priest from Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi temple expressed outrage, pledging to write to the Prime Minister and President. Union Minister Anurag Thakur accused Raja of affiliating with a divisive group aiming to dismantle India’s cultural fabric.
The incident underscores heightened tensions surrounding political and cultural discourse, with key figures within the ruling party expressing deep concern over perceived attempts at fostering division. The controversy amplifies existing challenges in maintaining national unity and cultural harmony, prompting a stern response from influential political figures within the BJP.
BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad criticized the Congress party for being allied with the DMK despite such controversial statements. He accused the Congress of prioritizing political gains over national interests.
Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathi demanded Raja’s arrest in reaction to his remarks, intensifying the controversy and reflecting the growing discord within political circles over the contentious statements.
